  • Well that's neat and convieneintly timed news... I'm a little behind but apparently they announced that they were doing a second series of Kiddy Grade. Check out the pilot episode. <-- Torrent link

    Anyway, back to O.S.

  • PS2 still has some gems...

This game freaking owns. I have nothing bad at all to say about this game except a few horrendous slowdown moments when the action gets too intense, often during you doing insane damage spells/items... but also against a certain boss. I imagine this slowdown problem isn't as bad on a PS3 if existent at all. I don't have one yet however so meh. Anyway, yea go buy this game peeps, it's worth it.

  • Slow Days...

Yea, I think it's just a Tuesday thing. That, or maybe it's because it was my first day back at work after vacation. Either way, it's just been feeling really slow today for some reason. Meh, fuq it. Tomorrow I have a 6 hour shift, (aka we-want-you-to-work-today-but-not-a-full-shift-mmkay), so that means I can stay up and have a nice healthy brain dump. (I so just typed brain dumb lol)

Well I've hardly played any games today except for a little level grinding on my pokemon at work. I have, however, been catching up on more anime.

Kiddy Grade; ya know when I watched the first episode I thought to myself... oh god... it's 24 shallow episodes of scantily clad action with a hot main character and her loli side-kick. Dispite that I kept watching it and to my surprise, I was wrong about the series. Make no mistake, it's very fan service-esque, but beneath that lies one of my favorite character development related storylines: inner conflict with the beast. I've always loved the idea of someone not fully being in control of themselves, something unknown lurking beneath the surface. And eventually fighting, though not always in a literal sense, with their inner self. Duno, just something I've always liked. That, along with the other lovable characters and a well paced storyline make for a great anime.

Murder Princess; what is it with anime and the female heroine? Probably sex appeal... shit it works doesn't it? Meh. This one is, from what I understand, 6 episodes long. While the story itself doesn't lead itself to be very deep and engrossing, the action scenes are neat. Can't resist a chick using a katana and tanto in tandem. Just something to watch just because. Then I watched the second episode. Part of my initial impression remains, but now at least the characters themselves are staring to get fleshed out a bit more, props for that and I'll be checking out the other eps as they come out.

Darker than Black; not sure if I mentioned this one already, but so far it's definately got my vote. Spiffy action scenes, mysteries abound, and a talking cat. Every two episodes so far have been sort of a short story involving a few main characters, as well as other story specific ones. It's at episode 6 right now and I can't wait for more of it. And no, the main character in this one is a dood, and a cool one at that.

Odin Sphere; ok so this isn't an anime, but thing is there's a lot of well known anime seiyuu lending their voice talents to this amazing looking 2D sidescrolling RPG. I don't know what else to say other then check out this trailer or any of the other ones on GT. It's like playing an anime imo. The fact that you can select the japanese voice track or the english one is a plus. So... it'd be like playing a subbed anime, hah. Dubs ftl.

Ok, I think that's about it for my rant now, think I'll grab some apple juice and see if I can sleep better tonight then I did last night.

edit: dang forgot... posted up new wallpaper on my desktop, gogo AP! and another thing about Odin Sphere... the music :)

  • Don't get out much...

I don't get out much, I'll safely admit that. But when the fuck did Lucy Liu get cast for a vampire flick and why wasn't I previously informed? The lowdown

I'm a sucker for vampires and such. I ate up both Underworld movies (first one was better, shut up). I know how cliche it is for vampires, revenge, and that there really, really, REALLY hasn't been an absolute SSS class vampire movie out there that hits you on every level with a sledge hammer and leaves a lasting mark... but I still love these kinds of stories no matter the medium. I duno, call it me rebelling against the norm and specifically going for the cult followings but meh. It's like the site said, "Lucy Liu + a gender-bent version of The Crow = approximately one million fanboys who are too excited to stand up from their computer chairs." that alone gets my vote and may even get me off my ass to go to the theaters and see it.

That aside, vacation off work is swell. I'm getting paid a 40 hour week + 8 hours because of my birthday for relaxing.

  • Ah, how I love being able to post to my pulse from my phone. Makes meetings and coffee breaks more fun. And I just noticed, today... well... yesterday... marked the start of my second year of premium yay go me. Also, I forget when I last updated my archive... oh well time to do that now. And.... well.... say what you will and call me a hypocrit but I've been slowly, slowly updating my myspace... QQ it's under my usual alias but I pretty much use it to talk to like.. 3 people.

Gahhh dammit I had an idea of a real post but now I forgot, I hate it when that happens. *adds in "brainfart" tag*

Well, one upside is the tunes I'm listening to. A few weeks back someone gave me a link to OCR, I'm pretty sure I threw out a plug here but I'm doing it again for shits and giggles. OverClocked Remixes kick ass, nuff said. They have a remix for OSTs off nearly every video game I can think of. This is probably one of my favorite tracks, and it reminds me a lot of Tyger's xanga with the whole castle of Hyrule thing going.

I highly encourage checking it out and/or grabbing the torrents they have on the front page of OCR, it comes out to about 1500+ tracks of remix goodness of your favorite gaming tunes new and old.

  • Ahh the first of May... Even with the not-as-sunny-as-I'd-like day we have today, it's still May, and it's very refreshing. One, I have vacation this month finally, and two, it's mah birthday. Although, am I really sure I should be excited? I mean jeez I'm gonna be turning 22. Oh well, the young want to be older and the older want to be younger, just how it is.

For example, the only ones who say, "I'm not a kid." are kids. Meanwhile, all the adults in denial (joking of course) go around saying, "I'm a big kid." What do I say? I don't know yet. I'm in no real rush to pick a side. As long as I have my Zen charged and full of tunes I'm fine either way.

Oh and this is more of an obligatory thing to post, but yea I had to do it. NSFWork/School/Kids. It's... yea... gogo WoW Machimania.
